I am Marian Barry, Advanced Cognitive Hypnotherapist, practising in Cambridge and Harley Street, Central London.
I am a member of the UK Guild of Hypnotist Examiners and bound by their code of ethics and standards of professional training, as well as a senior associate of the Royal Society of Medicine. I am also a highly qualified graduate, counsellor and published author.
I am based at Great Abington, a few miles south of Cambridge, where my consultations take place in a comfortable, private and safe environment. I also practise from the Harley Street Hypnotherapy Clinic, London W1G 9QD for one day per week.
How I got interested in hypnotherapy
When I worked as a lecturer, I noticed that students of the same ability ended up with vastly differing grades depending on whether or not they believed in themselves. As a qualified counsellor as well as a lecturer, my work became increasingly oriented to helping students develop self-belief and confidence. The results were impressive.
When I needed to overcome a problem of my own I benefited hugely from hypnotherapy. The quality of the experience and the speed at which I achieved change left such a deep impression, it led me to train further as an Advanced Cognitive Hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner.
My experiences of helping others overcome problems and reach their goals, have informed the award-winning, educational books I have written, which are popular in the UK and overseas.
